Savings Goals
I set a goal for us to save almost 10% of our income for March 2025! 10% for us is around $740, so we're just calling it $700 and if we save the extra $40 then great, but if not that's okay. I'll keep you all posted on if we hit our goal!
We already save around $400 per month, so I only need to save $300 more from other categories. Here are some categories that I'm taking from to try to hit that savings goal:
• I usually give myself $700 for groceries, but this month I'm going to try to get groceries for $600. Which will give me $100.
• I usually give myself $150 for TP Fund, but I'm taking $100 from that and trying to only spend $50 in my TP Fund. This is a pretty heft goal, as our TP Fund covers cleaning supplies, personal spending, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. but I'm just shooting for a "low spend" month in this area.
• My husband gets $150 per month for eating out and gas stations (he works on the road a lot), but with it being winter he's in his slow months, so I'm taking $50 from these categories.
• For misc. spending and unexpected, I usually give $50 in each category, but I cut these down to $25 each. Giving me $50 from those.
